App needs modernising

Credit offered is good but the app has very little functionality. For example, if paying down a cresit card balance from a non-HSBC bank you must do an archaic process by bank transfer with reference code and can't just pay by card or in the app - which is the case for other credit card providers with more modern apps. Poor Customer Support.

Have banked with HSBC for 35 years. Service has deteriorated. Poor communication, foreign call centre. Recent problem with Rewards Credit Card. I spend several thousand pounds on this card each month. However, £150 transaction was very iffy, but HSBC refused to refund me, and there was no customer support. Reviewed on: 13th December 2025

Not the simplest of credit cards

Difficult to activate. Difficult to make on line payments. Just difficult all round, and no high street branch for 20 miles.. I've cut mine up. Reviewed on: 16th September 2025

HSBC Card - no payment controls.. risky card to have

Watch out for HSBC credit cards. I got one for the first time last week. They assigned me a credit limit of 3x my monthly salary and never informed me. But the kicker is that they have no payment controls for their credit cards either on app or via any helpine other than completely block your card. In today's time of lots of fraud, not giving customer options for card controls is madness and on top of that, give a credit limit so high without telling meaning I go bankrupt if fraud use. terrible lack of awareness of market. similar lack of security procedure in bank account to when I opened 2 year back.. shut my account in 3 days due to completly missing security protocols on online access Reviewed on: 4th August 2025

Delay in receiving Credit Card

Applied for Credit Card online. No confirmation received via email/post/ text of successful application. Numerous calls made to Customer Service to enquire about status of application & when can expect to receive Card. Only received Credit Agreement to sign a month later. Reviewed on: 12th June 2025

HSBC Targeting, attacking & closing accounts of Jews...

Targeted, attacked & account closed due to Jewish ethnicity by HSBC UK Bank. Vile, Disgusting, Antisemitic Comments + Abuse by multiple staff (I was told Jewish people are "overprivileged"!). Lawyers involved - HSBC now REFUSING TO RESPOND, also to SAR Request sent by lawyer (after months). Therefore, HSBC's illegal, racist & Extremist conduct will be publicly reviewed for the foreseeable future. WARNING: HSBC ARE NOW TARGETING PEOPLES ACCOUNTS FOR CLOSURES BASED ON THEIR ETHNICITY, THIS IS NO EXAGGERATION. More will be posted in due course, complete with evidence.
