Good overall experience

Santander's online banking & their mobile app are brilliant. You can do most things online and for the few things you need to ring up about, the staff are really knowledgeable. Reviewed on: 27th December 2016

Good current account

Money for nothing!

I have the above account - even though the interest rate has dropped to 1.5% I still get a good deal as I also get cashback on essentials including Council Tax, fuel, water & all phones - mobile and landline. I get a monthly statement through the post too so I can check all is OK. Would certainly recommend. Reviewed on: 24th December 2016

a bit disappointed

Santander recently changed their interest rates on their 1-2-3 account meaning its not just as good an account as before if using it for saving. We have 3 of these accounts as we felt 3% was a great rate with the way things in the banking world were but now they have dropped it to only 1.5% while also charging more for having this account too. Seriously considering changing where our money is. Reviewed on: 24th December 2016

Amazing!

Wanted a bank to switch to with great benefits and that also made the transaction easy and simple and Santander definitely did just that! I wanted to setup and move over my direct debits simply and quickly and with this account I gain benefits for paying bills and shopping. Reviewed on: 24th December 2016

Interest rate dropping....

I have held a 1/2/3 account since it was first started a few years ago.Up until this year it has been a good way to try and get some interest on your money.Santander are now dropping the interest rate to 1.5%,so halving the rate.Ok if you have £10k or more in the account.As most will know the 1.5% is probably still the best you can do right now as the BOE has thrown savers under a bus since 2008 with it's monetary policy and ridiculously low base rate.Anyway all I can say is that Santander are a very good company to deal with overall and have probably been the saviour of many small savers in this country over the last 4/5 years. Less attractive than it was, but rewards can still be worthwhile

I've held the 123 account for quite a while now, and after some initial teething problems I have been very happy with Santander's service and product offer. The increased fees and lower interest rates that have been introduced in recent months have made me look at whether I would be better off elsewhere, but I think on balance it is still a good account for me. I often use the retailer cashback offers and this improves the return on this and the 123 credit card that I also hold. Overall I am happy with Santander and would recommend them.
