Not the best or worst

cash back scheme review

Good company

The 123 account was very good when the interest rate was 3% but sadly it was reduced so Im not as happy as I was. The staff though are fantastic and always polite and very helpful. Reviewed on: 6th November 2017

Impressive Account

This cashback account started off at 3% for funds up to Î£20k but was reduced earlier this year to 1.5%. It also gives cashback on direct debits (utilities, telecoms). There is a Î£5 monthly charge for having the account but the cashback on the direct debits far outweighs this charge. You have the option of adding notifications of special offers and some of these are really good (discounts at certain shops etc). The staff at my local branch bend over backwards to assist in any matters and always advise me of offers I'm missing out on. best current account to earn some extra cash

I switched to Santander 123, having the account recommended to me. I initially was credited with £50 per month, it's now gone down to £30 per month with the revised interest rates. To get a %age back on your everyday bills, and just for keeping a good balance with them is a no brainer. The security of the on-line banking is good, so I can check the transactions either on my laptop, phone or an app on my Ipad. Well done Santander. Reviewed on: 6th November 2017

Good, but was better

Haven't had any problems in terms of service. The interest rate drop from 3% to 1.5% was disappointing, but not unexpected. The cashback on regular bills is quite nice, and more or less covers the monthly fee. Reviewed on: 6th November 2017

Ideal account for me

Easy online banking, website very responsive, queries answered speedily, local branch for cheque deposits very efficient. As I had some savings this current account was ideal for me as it gave me 3% interest. I was very impressed with how the account worked, but when the interest rate fell I was tempted to change to the Yorkshire Bank as the incentive they offered was greater than a year’s interest.
