By Miles provide car insurance aimed at low mileage drivers.

By Miles charge a fixed cost that covers a car while it’s parked. The rest is based on the actual miles driven. Customers can either plug in the matchbox-sized Miles Tracker, or for newer cars, you can connect By Miles directly with your car’s mileometer.

Since joining By Miles I've been nothing but impressed. It's honest insurance, paying for what you use and it's quite refreshing to find a company out there that is actually not ripping off the motorist. Their customer support is the best I've come across in 22 years of driving and they even lowered my renewal this year! Who does that? By Miles, that's who. An amazing company doing amazing things. By Miles is the perfect insurer for me. A relatively low mileage driver, who uses a car for the occasional excursion, but more for a few miles run to and from work everyday. This innovative idea has given me (the consumer) the ability to feel like I am only ever paying for what I choose from an insurer, and not the other way around. The easy to set upp app, gives you a visual amount every time you travel, and the savings I have made with the policy, together with exceptional customer service are something every other insurer should strive to do - not take the consumer for granted. Great customer service & good price!

I'm so glad I followed my curiosity and signed up to ByMiles. Not only have I saved £100+ this year, it's been a relief to not have to shell out loads of money each month during the pandemic (I've hardly driven my car). Really affordable car insurance and you only pay for what you use. Has helped me a lot during this hard time as I wasn't able to pay for the annual total for my car insurance as I do normally in one go. Also cheaper overall for the year if I drive the same miles I usually do in a year compared to other companies. Reviewed on: 30th July 2020

Great idea, with maybe some improvements possible.

Initial quote was very good! Initial charge of £191 plus 3.2p per mile. As I now work from home, with minimal trips to hospital for assessments this would be a godsend. However, if you fail to receive the tracker in the post or if there is a technical hitch the onus is on YOU as the policyholder to query any faults. If the unit fails in the event of a claim, your excess shoots up to £800, not great! If you aren’t tech ally minded fitting th me tracker can be a right ball ache and they start charging for 150 miles a day, the top whack! Why not track via a smartphone app? Or via cigarette lighter unit like other policies similar to this. Reviewed on: 30th July 2020

Having paying thousands previously, five months in with my insurance with by miles, I’m still shocked at how much I now pay. For someone that doesn’t do many miles, this is the most perfect insurance company for me! Every time I contact them, I am provided with fantastic service, no money greedy company here!
