By Miles charge a fixed cost that covers a car while it’s parked. The rest is based on the actual miles driven. Customers can either plug in the matchbox-sized Miles Tracker, or for newer cars, you can connect By Miles directly with your car’s mileometer.

Excellent for a second car

Because of low mileage on our second car we chose By Miles and it has proved to be a money saver. While we need insurance for the car, with low mileage the reduced risk for the insurer is passed on as a saving for the driver without having to accurately estimate the mileage when taking out the policy. Saves me a fortune!

I had been quoted £85 a month for insurance.... being a very low mileage customer I paid an initial deposit of £200 and am averaging about £6 a month, so it really has been beneficial using By Miles. Easy to set up on-line and I get an email each month showing how much I need to pay. For anyone like myself who is not a high mileage user I would recommend this company.
