By Miles charge a fixed cost that covers a car while it’s parked. The rest is based on the actual miles driven. Customers can either plug in the matchbox-sized Miles Tracker, or for newer cars, you can connect By Miles directly with your car’s mileometer.

We all know insurance isn’t cheap especially as the cost of living rises however with By Miles I’ve been able to find cover which suits my budget and has saved me hundreds compared to other insurers. I’ve only just realised as well after a certain point it caps the cost which again saves you money and is a nice benefit to have. It is a unique product and I can already imagine other companies trying to copy this style. Getting cover was quick, the app is easy to use, the set up was simple, everything is user friendly. The plug in device you get is also a great gadget, no only does it calculate your miles, it acts as a vehicle location tracker and gives you information on your cars health (services you’d be paying £££’s for you’re getting free). This insurance is perfect for me as I work from home mostly so I obviously use my car a varied amount. Paying for my insurance mile by mile makes so much sense to me, the more you drive, the higher the risk etc! It just works. It’s cheaper too. Reviewed on: 16th August 2022

I joined By Miles when I changed to my latest electric car. Since I lost my partner I don't do the mileage that I used to. By MIles gives me the cover that I need for a sensible price. The service I get is excellent and that counts for an awful lot these days. Reviewed on: 16th August 2022

Had car insurance for years from many different companies some household names included. Since from receiving my original quote from by miles and commenment of my policy with them I can only give them top marks. Price, customer service, customer communication all totally faultless.
