By Miles charge a fixed cost that covers a car while it’s parked. The rest is based on the actual miles driven. Customers can either plug in the matchbox-sized Miles Tracker, or for newer cars, you can connect By Miles directly with your car’s mileometer.

It is easy to use. Also no extra cost if we do not use the car but still under insurance coverage.

Insurance cost may be varied each month. We can pay less if we do not use the car but it is still under the coverage. Also we can monitor our mileage records and our driving patterns. Reviewed on: 16th August 2022

Cheap insurance

I love by miles as I don't drive too much so it works out so much cheaper for me. I was quoted over £800 for insurance on my car then I saw an advert for by miles, and it now works out that I am only paying roughly £250 a year, fully comp. Great for low mileage drivers

I joined because other insurers ramped up my price as soon as I hit 70, despite driving fewer miles. When I called to check their offer was genuine, I found the customer reps were friendly and welcoming. They explained the principle that they use to insure all drivers and the quote for my Jaguar came in around £200 cheaper. The base price plus a pence per mile charge works brilliantly for me. I changed for a brand new plug in hybrid and the renewal costs went DOWN. That’s a first in all my years of driving. Unbelievable value

Most insurance companies take your premium up-front and... that's it! OK, By Miles do that (based on expected annual mileage) but, assuming you don't exceed that, you get the rate for the unused mileage refunded. Great insurance company!

Pay by miles… it’s a no brainer! So great and so much cheaper than other insurance companies. Plus they cap it at a certain amount of miles and they have a refer a friend program. Can’t fault it so far. Reviewed on: 16th August 2022

No ordinary Car Insurance

My insurance went down from around £90 a month to around £30 a month. You only pay when you drive each mile for a fixed cost and pay a small lump sum each month for when you car is parked. Amazing value for money. The bymiles team a spectacular when dealing with ANY query. I have recommended to many friends and family. Keep up the excellent work and the value for money !! Brilliant insurance company

My experience with ByMiles has been fab. It was so easy to get set up and started with them, the app works great and us so helpful keeping track of my milage especially with doing driving for work. Car Insurance linked to car usage

On the basis that there is a legal requirement to have insurance for motor vehicles used on public roads, it seems utterly logical and reasonable that I do not pay for insurance when I am not using the roads - except for my resident's parking space. With the pressure on everyone to use their cars less and the current pressure on domestic finances, it makes profound sense to manage your outgoings accordingly and only pay for things you use.
