By Miles provide car insurance aimed at low mileage drivers.

By Miles charge a fixed cost that covers a car while it’s parked. The rest is based on the actual miles driven. Customers can either plug in the matchbox-sized Miles Tracker, or for newer cars, you can connect By Miles directly with your car’s mileometer.

Better than expected!

Best insurance company I have ever used

Not only is the base price less than half of a standard fully comp quote from leading insurance, the 3.7p per mile is nothing. There’s also a cap on how much they can charge you per day- to a 500 mile trip isn’t crazy money at all if you do it in 24 hours. And in the UK, you’ll struggle to go further without falling into the sea! On the app, they are always there to help too with any issues or questions you may have when you’re new to paying by the mile. If you have a second car, or you just don’t drive that much- seriously, ByMiles is the only way to go! Reviewed on: 4th August 2021

A win win policy

As someone now driving fewer, but variable, miles a month the By Miles policy suits me admirably. I have the comfort of knowing that while my car is sitting unused in the garage I’m paying nothing (other than the initial discounted payment). It’s the most economical method of retaining my car insurance cover but at the same time keeping my expenditure to an absolute minimum. Reviewed on: 4th August 2021

Everywhere l looked l could not afford a fixed price until l found by miles the ideia of paying by mileage is the best for anyone with a low budget. Pay what you use .and the staff are so helpful everytime something goes wrong they contact straight away to check ✔ not many can do that. Great service for any low mileage driver

I really appreciate being able to pay as I go — where the cost of my risks directly relate to my time on the road, but not worry about how I accelerate. The app can be a little buggy but it packs some handy extra features. The only downsides I have found so far are a) adding a driver changes your rate per mile no matter who is driving, and b) that it costs £10 a go to change your policy - e.g. to add or remove a driver. I would have hoped with all the technology underpinning their great offering that they could have (or will soon!) solve these limitations. I would give 4.5 stars but rounding up to 5 because they don’t deserve 4. Reviewed on: 4th August 2021
