By Miles charge a fixed cost that covers a car while it’s parked. The rest is based on the actual miles driven. Customers can either plug in the matchbox-sized Miles Tracker, or for newer cars, you can connect By Miles directly with your car’s mileometer.

Great way to save on car insurance

The pay per mile system works wonders instead of a blanket estimate in how much you think you'll be driving in year, especially for young inexperienced drivers. No hassle to install into your car and no fuss in terms of hand holding on when your allowed to drive and how. Reviewed on: 4th August 2021

By Miles works for me!

My partner and I are low mileage drivers but I had never seen this fully recognised by insurers.......until By Miles appeared. When it comes to price of policy, I haven't found cheaper (I was initially referred so I benefited from £50 worth of free mileage, and then I also referred someone else and received another £50 of free miles). So far I have not had to claim (I'll keep praying) and therefore I cannot comment on how good the service is at that point. However, when I have had questions, the replies have been quick and helpful. The app seems good, although it would be great if it were developed to allow 2 cars to be on it at the same time rather than having to keep logging in and out (yes, I was happy enough to insure my 2nd car with By Miles when the time arrived). As a young driver I’ve gone from paying £95 pcm to an average of £50pcm through By Miles. The app is really solid, you can check how much you’ve spent, the journeys you’ve taken and also do a car health check on it to make sure the electrics are all working. The referral scheme is another great way to keep costs down with a generous credit amount for each trip. Now we work from home getting by miles is a great way to save money and also reduce your carbon footprint by incentivising not using the car. Reviewed on: 4th August 2021
