By Miles charge a fixed cost that covers a car while it’s parked. The rest is based on the actual miles driven. Customers can either plug in the matchbox-sized Miles Tracker, or for newer cars, you can connect By Miles directly with your car’s mileometer.

Easy, straightforward, fast and efficient service

I changed my car insurance to by miles this year as they were offering the most competitive price, i also liked the fact that i could even still save more if i happened to drive less than I expected some months. The app is straight forward, the customer service team are friendly, reply fast and easy to contact. I like the way the app is set out too its simple and easy to follow. So far so good ! Revolutionising the industry

I couldn't be more impressed with ByMiles' platform and prices. I signed up for ByMiles right when COVID lockdowns were first introduced and, even factoring out my reduction in driving habits, my premiums ended up being ~20% lower than my previous provider (factoring it in, the reduction was closer to 45%). I love that you can use the app to check your driving history and behaviour, do a health check on your vehicle (e.g. to check computer codes), get real-time price info for your journeys, and even get your statements with just a few clicks. Logging in to my previous providers' policy portals used to be such a chore - open your browser, hunt down your policy number, remember your password, etc. - but now it couldn't be easier; as soon as you open the app, everything you need is straight at your fingertips: Your month so far; your policy summary (including your at-a-glance policy details - i.e. what cover you have, whether you have breakdown cover in place, your use permissions like commuting etc.) - it really couldn't be simpler. Super insurance!

I bought ByMiles just as the first lockdown came into place, so through 2020 the insurance was perfect for a year of not being able to go out much or too far. The prices are decent and given the rates, they’re not just competitive but excellent, especially when you look at the features and level of insurance. The team are also really responsive. When I’ve had issues with my car they’ve been understanding and when I’ve had a question about my policy really helpful and informative.
