Telephone call with Simon was fine. New Darlington on line not good from my point of view as it is not as easy to use and does not allow (as the old version did) withdrawals from 40 day notice account with loss of interest without sending instruction through a secure message. Prompt reply to my initial query from Customer Services at Darlington. Good range of products with competitive rates of interest. Easy to make appointment at Bishop Auckland branch. Assistance with registering on new DBS website

After 3 attempts to register on the new website, I contacted Simon in the customer service department for help. Simon talked me through the whole process. He was pleasant, friendly, knowledgeable and, above all, extremely patient as I have an illness which makes typing very difficult! Polite, professional staff, always helpful. To improve perhaps you could consider electronic reading of passbook account number to speed up updates. Also, faster changes to savings interest rates following BoE rate changes. Reviewed on: 18th August 2023
