Freetrade plan on lending shares out

Freetrade will force me to agree to my shares being lent out on 1st of June 2022. I don’t want to agree to this. Why would I agree to shares being lent out to be shorted on the very company I am long on! It’s as if Iv just bought a new coat and the retailer says no no no you can’t have that. We are going to lend it out to somebody else. Why would any customer be happy with this??? Reviewed on: 23rd March 2022

Absolute shambles

Charged extra for trading foreign shares then restricted trading with no notice. Won't allow voting in annual general meeting. Won't allow share transfers or direct registering of shares. Reviewed on: 23rd March 2022

Costly for a platform that has free in the name

When things are free your the product

Wouldnt reccomend, forced share lending applying downward pressure to your long position through short selling. Not confident I even own the shares I have brought with free trade and fear they will liquidate my position if it suits them. Slowly direct registering my shares with computershare for peace of mind. Basics, no services, little trust

Freetrade don’t provide enough basic services for their paying customers. You cannot vote, you cannot transfer from your ISA, you cannot DRS your shares and you have to trust them that they know where your US shares are. However, they actually don’t really know as that’s the main reason they don’t support DRS or stock transfer in the US. They also have a bad habit of changing their T&Cs for the worst (lending your shares without sharing revenues or giving you options to opt out for instance. Or when they say that they may shut down their services whenever they want etc). In other words : to be avoided Reviewed on: 23rd March 2022

Against customers interests!

Freetrade is a terrible company. They prey on new investors. They lend shares, which allows other financial institutions to 'short' your position. Lowering the price of the company you are trying to invest in. You can not opt out of this lending. Freetrade make money by doing it but don't pass on any of that money to you. They do not allow you to transfer your positions out but happily let you transfer in, locking you into their platform. You don't own any share bought through their service. They use your money to bet against your position. Do not give ANY money to these criminals. They are not out to help you invest. They are not on your side. Stay clear of these charlatans!
