Halifax is a well-known UK bank offering a wide range of services including current accounts, savings, mortgages, and credit products. Overall, the experience is mixed. On the positive side, the mobile app is easy to use and makes everyday banking simple, such as checking balances and making payments. Halifax also offers a broad range of mortgage options, which can be competitive, especially for first-time buyers. Some branch staff are helpful and friendly when dealing with straightforward issues. However, customer service can be inconsistent. Many customers experience long waiting times when contacting support, and resolving more complex problems can be frustrating. Couldn’t do what they said they couldn’t do.

Opened 5 everyday saver accounts for different savings goals. Was told that I could only open them in my name and once opened I could then add my Wife to make all the accounts joint. This proved impossible to achieve either in person, on the phone or on line. Total waste of time. Reviewed on: 12th June 2025
