Started well but all downhill The reduction in the interest rate on this account has been staggering, especially when considering the recent climb in the base rate. Reviewed on: 5th March 2023

I use Halifax for most of my accounts and the ease of use is great along with a really easy online app that makes transferring money across accounts and keeping an eye on your money simple. Reviewed on: 4th April 2017

Best Help to Buy ISA

Was offering 4% interest when i first joined, now reduced to 3.5% however is still the best rate Help to Buy ISA #MaxYourMoney Reviewed on: 30th March 2017

A lot easier than others!

#MaxYourMoney me and my husband both had different help to buy ISAs. His with Nationwide and mine with Halifax. When it came to buying our first house Halifax we're so much simpler, although you had to go into branch to close it. It was quick & hassle free. Reviewed on: 29th March 2017

Saving to buy...

While getting into the habit of saving regularly (£200 each month), I'm also getting the bonus of 4% interest AND the government's 25% bonus when I finally buy my first home. Definitely beats the average 0.33% interest out there at the moment! Reviewed on: 5th March 2017

3.5% even without the extra top-up from the government

Originally I was earning 4% but after 12 months Halifax dropped the rate down to 3.5%. It's still the best deal on the market though. It's a shame the maximum I can save is £200 per month. Reviewed on: 2nd March 2017

help to buy flexibility

I set up help to buy which is great but I wish it could be used flexibly either for pension or mortgage and would be helpful to have more information on the different saving options available. I enquired about the lifetime ISA and member of staff very friendly but not very knowledgable on different services. Reviewed on: 12th February 2017

Good, but used to be better

I first spotted this ISA when it appeared at a 4% interest rate. Unfortunately I thought I'd leave it till I had saved the max for a first month deposit, by which time it was only 2% interest! Disappointing, but on the other hand, Brexit happened in between and I can't blame Halifax for that. Other than that, service is good, I like their online system and you always get through to someone in the UK when you call them. Customer service is very good. Reviewed on: 6th February 2017

Competitive interest rate

Halifax's Help To Buy ISA has continuously had the best interest rates since they Help to Buy Isa was started. Reviewed on: 11th January 2017

Good product

We had a fantastic experience opening the help to buy ISA's with a very helpful member of staff called Rebecca at the Keighley branch. Reviewed on: 24th December 2016

Easy to open

I opened a help to buy ISA with Halifax just under a year ago. I completed the process online and it took less than half an hour in total. It was easy to set up a standing order from my current account into the help to buy ISA and I can easily keep track of my account via online banking. I would open other accounts with Halifax based on my experience with them. Reviewed on: 24th December 2016
