SVR not come down after 3 interest rate cuts. SVR not come down after 3 interest rate cuts. Savings rates have come down. SVR goes up immediately interest rates go up. Gross profiteering imo. Reviewed on: 25th March 2025

Treated like someone who matters

Lana, our mortgage advisor was friendly, supportive and efficient. She went out of her way to meet with us and to make sure that we had everything we needed to process the paperwork quickly. Whilst the paperwork was being processed, she stayed in touch with us and we were confident that if we had any questions, they would be answered quickly. Despite a 6 week completion date being imposed on us at the offer stage, as soon as we met with Lana and the team we knew that she would do everything possible to meet it and we could stop stressing. Even our solicitor commented how good the Hanley have been to work with and the whole process - offer to completion has been done in 6 weeks. I cannot recommend the Hanley and Lana enough. Thank you. Friendly, flexible & efficient

Staff at the Hanley have been amazing - they went out of their way to ensure I had a mortgage in principle in time for our house viewing. Once we had made our offer we were on a very short timescale which we couldn't have met without staff changing their appointments to meet with us and being able to submit documentation remotely. There has been supportive communication through e-mail - not at all intrusive and a definite feeling that they were on our side working to get us into out new house. The whole process was completed within the 6 weeks specified by the vendor. I cannot recommend the Hanley enough. Thank you Reviewed on: 12th December 2019

Going the extra mile

I tried different mortgage advisors to arrange a self build mortgage and each of them were unable to help. I eventually found the Hanley Economic Building Society myself and I was expecting the same answer that I had from all the other lenders that I had spoken to. From my first telephone call with them, they gave me confidence that they were going to be able to help me and they did. The staff have all gone above and beyond to help me and I even call them now just to see how they are and to have a chat. I have never experienced this sort of customer service from a bank or building society. The whole mortgage team, underwriting team and all that were involved with my application deserve a medal for their help. Reviewed on: 21st November 2019

Fantastic experience from start to finish.

We contacted The Hanley directly as we were buying a new build property and wanted to take out a 95% mortgage. Unfortunately most high street lenders do not offer a 95% LTV on a new build property, but as soon as we contacted them to make an enquiry, they arranged a call back with a mortgage adviser. Danielle Cope was the mortgage adviser who dealt with us and she was so helpful and friendly throughout. She gave us some great advice and plenty of options on the type of mortgage term and rate. After the application was submitted, the underwriting team were fantastic and very efficient. Every time we called we were able to speak with the underwriters directly, and we were made to feel like our application was important, and not just another number. Would highly recommend. An amazing team of people

It was lovely for us to be treated like people and not a number on a credit score. Jane our mortgage advisor and all the rest of the team at the Hanley worked really hard to get us a great deal on a mortgage and now we are settled into our lovely home. Easy Peasy!

We have recently moved into our first property thanks to Jane at the Hanley. Initially we thought, being first time buyers with only a 5% deposit and debts on credit cards we would never be able to get a mortgage. After being referred to Jane by a family member, we thought we'd give her a call. I am so glad we did, Jane made things so simple and straight forward for us, she made us feel so comfortable and ultimately we have moved into our dream home!
