Great Building Society to deal with

Have been a member of HEBS for over 50 years.

Occasionally tollerable, but mostly nit so good.

Occasional great savings accounts, but mostly very poor. Customer service is mixed, with some excellent helpful staff, and others you need to avoid. Chaps fees are excessive and are required over £10k which is far too low, but they appear to use them as a secondary income stream. The refular saver rate is one of the lowest interest rates on moneyfacts. In summary, Hanley Economic can be very difficult to deal with, but occasionally savers can get a good deal when they need money. Reviewed on: 9th April 2025

Quicky & easy set up

I recently opened a Savings account with Hanley and wanted to share my positive experience. The entire process was remarkably quick and hassle-free, making it a smooth and pleasant experience. Additionally, I have been using the newly launched mobile app and am thoroughly impressed with its user-friendly design. Helpful staff and good savings rates.

Helpful staff who pick up the phone and give clear advice. Good savings rate which tracks the Bank of England rate so is fair. Reviewed on: 30th March 2025
