Outdated and slow processing

Other Savings institutions have fast modern systems not relying on outdated passbooks which can be lost in the post and none now use cheques for withdrawals. Not only does it delay the recipient’s receipt of funds while the cheque clears it’s unfair as the Mansfield benefits from the extra interest. I am still waiting on 02.06.2023 for a cheque for the proceeds of an account which matured on 27.05.2023 which is unacceptable and this causes me to lose money. The majority of efficient institutions use a linked verified nominated bank account which is used for deposits thereby complying with Moneylaundering requirements and for withdrawals so that a BACS payment is received within 48 hours. Outdated processes are a disincentive to invest with the Mansfield. Reviewed on: 2nd June 2023

Misplaced money

Upon maturity of a bond we gave instruction in branch to move to a new fixed rate bond, over a year later we were informed that it hadn’t been placed as instructed and confirmed at the time! Very surprised that this could happen in a regulated building society! Mansfield made up the difference in interest but confidence lost. Reviewed on: 2nd June 2023
