Easy, flexible and helpful bank

One of the best experience I had until now, as a UK resident I have been banking with 4 different banks in UK, metro bank being the latest one. I still remember well the day I went to one of its branches. During this time of covid-19, I was treated with full professionalism and hospitality, which I missed them with other banks as I was roaming around different banks to get a basic account. It's was odd as I was told I would be served by a new trainee which was his first day, but was shocked and amazed as well later because I was treated so well. I even learned and understood many things about banking. If I could then I would definitely recommend metro bank to all my friends and relatives. Trusted bank

metro have always been a trustworthy bank in my opinion. I’ve moved all my savings and kids savings to this bank and so have my family members. I feel like they listen to what their consumers want and act accordingly. They are also very friendly and accessible. Reviewed on: 30th March 2021

So much better than Barclays

I was with Barclays for 40 years- it was my mother's bank and mine after her. I thought I would be happy to stay with them until the day I died. However, in recent years I have found it to have become over corporate- impersonal, unfriendly, and penny pinching. The operatives in the bank are in general very nice and do their best, but it is the limitations the organisation puts on them and the culture generated which is the main problem. It was actually a discussion with one of their operatives over their overdraft policy which was the final straw which finally pushed me away. The cashier was officious, and failed to address the clear logic I was putting to her in my questions. I had heard good things about Metro, so I walked out of Barclays and into Metro close by, and signed up. That was about 3 years ago, and I have found it to be a great decision. The inviting organisational culture and vision is clear as you enter the bank- the opening hours, the layout of the bank, and the messages which are clearly portrayed in the bank. The staff are also always welcoming and eager to help, and most importantly of all, they listen to me. So well done, Metro- I have had a great experience with you throughout the last three years, and feel confident my money is safe in your hands. Reviewed on: 30th March 2021
