Close to perfection for my needs as sole trader

I believe I was something of an early adopter for opening an original eMoney style account with Mettle. I was being charged teens of pounds each month simply for having a business account with my former banking provider which seemed to bring no benefits and was rather harsh with me being a sole trader. Mettle was (and for now still is) completely free and I also offer a small amount of interest on positive balances in my new account with them. As with all other providers the platform isn't perfect but for me it is as close as I could probably wish for. Instant notifications via the app when I receive money are particularly useful. I also made great use of the "pots" option to split my funds accordingly. There are a couple of emissions such as no IBAN number, but overall I have and continue to be absolutely delighted. No lack of mettle... plus top service and app

As a new business owner it was a leap of faith to use Mettle but a leap that has been rewarded in spades. Excellent app and limks effortlessly to my accounting software. Great experience, easy to use & customer support is smooth and helpful. The app works so well also which is helpful when on the road. As a free business bank it’s perfect for a small sole trader for self employment purposes. Never had an issue- communication is frequent and simple from anyone. Reviewed on: 18th March 2025
