Simplifying the mortgage process

After booking in a phone meeting, we were talked through the mortgage we were after. We had already bought a mortgage with Nationwide for shared ownership, so were staircasing for the rest of the flat. This made it more complicated than a usual mortgage. The chap we spoke to spent quite a bit of time working out which mortgage would work for us, based on matching the time we had left on the old mortgage. He gave us two options and explained both, giving us time to make up our minds. We bank with Nationwide already so were able to take out a good mortgage, the whole process was handled well and was the speediest part of the whole mortgage process, waiting on solicitors and our housing association the longest. It all has to be don't his phone and internet. I've moved banks now to one that will accommodate my wishes. Reviewed on: 15th February 2016
