Review of the NatWest, Select Account:

Ok but nothing special

The Select account is a good basic bank account. However there are a few frustrations with Natwest in general. I have found issues with the level of service in our local branch and opening hours are short. The security measures needed to transfer money are frustrating (need a card reader so difficult to do on the go). There have been recent modifications so you can now send small amounts but it doesn't save the payee. It also doesn't save payees that are created by the other joint account holder which is frustrating as you need to set them up twice. Reviewed on: 19th November 2017

Secure, accessible and outstanding customer service

I’ve been with NatWest for 6 years, never had a safety issue and I trust them with my money, whenever I have had an issue with transactions their customer service is top quality and all issues have been resolved promptly and their app and website have always been easy to use. No issues

Wouldn't recommend

They are happy to take charges when you have no money. Take you into an unarranged overdraft and then charge you again for them doing that (not till next month mind so you've forgotten and it happens again) not very helpful customer services. Have found them to be quite snooty and short with a lack of understanding of the pressure the general public are under. Claim to be willing to help people in financial difficulty but in reality this is no the case. The banks version of greenwashing. Reviewed on: 10th March 2023
