Great staff - they could do with some equipment replaced as theirs us old and causing them problems

Assistance sorting out my deceased wife's ISA

Anna was extremely helpful sorting out the paperwork & giving me advice in the final registration of transferring of ISA into my name via APS. Hopefully everything is proceeding without further problems now. Also the remainder of the team were very friendly and considerate, really nice to have made friends in the branch rather than just as a customer as in many other companies. Newbury Building Society - can't fault the service

I applied for a further advance. The options were clearly explained to me and the product I selected was at a fair rate. The processing of the application was a little involved because of the fact that I am retired and the Society needed to check whether I met their financial criteria and also the purpose of the further advance. Fortunately the application was approved. Everyone involved in the process was extremely courteous and helpful and the product suited my requirements perfectly. Reviewed on: 4th August 2023

very helpful staff

We have recently bought a property and the whole experience with NBS has been helpful from the beginning. There was a gap between selling and buying so the staff in branch eased us through where to put the capital in the meantime. When we were ready to use the money, they again made the whole process simple. Even when I made an error on a document that was time crucial, they were more than willing to send a replacement by email so I could get it sorted straight away. They are always courteous and guide you through whatever needs to be done. Most interaction more recently has been by phone or email as we have moved away from Newbury but everyone is always patient and takes time to explain things. Reviewed on: 4th August 2023

I only wanted to open a senior savers account. I do not need an appointment for an interview to make sure it is 'right for me'. I explained I had accounts with the Newbury and just wished to fill in appropriate forms. Luckily the manager of the branch arranged this for me. I can read details from your website and know what I require , it is not a mortgage application. It can feel very patronising. Reviewed on: 4th August 2023

Friendly Service in a Changing Environment

My wife recently opened a new savings account with Newbury BS and I was impressed with the level of service and efficiency that she was afforded. So we decided to open another joint account and it was really good to see that the same level of service was afforded to us again. There was no pressure to take out a particular account and we were confident of the product we were investing in all the way through. The only downside, if one could call it that, was the fact that the initial greeting as we entered the office. We had to wait in a queue and go up to the desk to advise one of the tellers that we had an appointment, even though the person we were due to see was sat in a separate office just metres away. That could be handled better by having a "roving" member of staff. Reviewed on: 4th August 2023
