After been scammed via facebook market place where s...

After been scammed via facebook market place where someone got me to pay for an item via the direct to debit option, it was heart wrenching to find that direct to debit option comes under friends and family, therefore my payment was not protected. There is nothing when using that option to flag up that it does come under friends and family which is very disappointing. I got scammed and no way of recovering my losses. That option does need a warning on it saying re friends and family so any payment will not be protected. Reviewed on: 15th April 2026
