Fraudulent Company took my money BUT PayPal has my back

I looking to order an air conditioning unit when the Company fraudulently put an order through and took my money, before I had even finalised my order. They billed me and took my money for 3 items. I was so distressed at what they'd done, I cancelled the order within minutes, but the Company said it had already been dispatched - immediately. Total and utter lies, so I opened a case with PayPal- I knew I'd be protected but backed it up with my credit card, just in case. They told me the Company had opened a recurring payment as well direct from my card! I felt sick when I found out as I had no idea they'd done it and I would have said no, if they had asked.. PayPal cancelled the sale due to unauthorised payments.and refunded my card. I still have a separate order for 2, that I'd opened a dispute on, that I am awaiting the conclusion of but I am very grateful to the team for helping me. It'd so wrong that Companies can do this sort of thing but PayPal had my back and I can't fault them on it. Reviewed on: 3rd July 2026
