Simple, interest-free purchase management

I used Pay in 3 for unexpected purchases, most often - an item has worn out and needs replacing quickly and I hadn’t planned for the purchase that month. Pay in 3 is an interest-free way of me breaking down the purchase so I don’t have to use a credit card. It allows me to budget better with my money - PayPal keeps me updated as to when the payment is coming up (in case I’ve forgotten - it happens to us all, right?). The process is simple - choose this option at checkout, be approved and then split the payment over three months. Why wouldn’t I choose this when I have an unexpected bill to pay? It keeps things manageable and my household ticking over. That said, this method only works well if you are good at managing your money - the same pitfalls apply as they do for taking credit out on an item. I do this knowing I can pay this amount off if it is split into smaller payments, not if I simply can’t afford an item. Reviewed on: 9th June 2026

Useful Budgeting Tool

I find PayPal Pay in 3 very helpful when I need to spread the cost of larger purchases. It has been especially useful during periods when money has been tight, as it allows me to manage my budget more effectively without having to pay the full amount upfront.
