Brilliant way to pay shops and individuals.

Brilliant way to pay shops and individuals. Easy to track payments and deal with any disputes - I just wish everyone would use it! First thing I do when paying online is to check if they accept PayPal and when they don't my heart sinks! PayPal have always been very quick to support me and resolve disputes, and I think that's one of the key benefits, knowing you have support if something goes wrong! Reviewed on: 9th June 2026

Don't support customers against scams

I have been a loyal PayPal customer for many years. Unfortunately recently was tricked by a scam company into taking out a subscription or £50 after a single £1.95 payment which was presented to me as a one-off but hidden in various smallprint as a trial that would continue into a yearly subscription. And conveniently their confirmation email with the billing info mysteriously never arrived. So the first I knew about this subsequent payment was when it was taken by PayPal. After providing copious evidence and screenshots of how this unscrupulous company operates and their trustpilot reviews detailing the many other people who have been misled by them I am seriously disappointed that PayPal would side with this company and not return my payment. I thought there was supposed to be much more support and protection given to customers against such activities these days. I am normally very wise to this type of thing and have never had to request help or make such a claim in the many years as a PayPal customer so am seriously upset and disappointed that I am being treated this way, as well as the impact on my mental health and finances.
