This company have tried every trick in the book not to pay a claim of only 200 pounds, i would avoid at all costs, they will put so many hurdles in front of you that you actually give up. Reviewed on: 5th September 2024

Terrible company to deal with. AVOID

Terrible company to deal with. Took out a months insurance for my foster dog then wrote to tell them the dog had gone to a new home so I needed it cancelled from immediate effect. No response so presumed it was done. Then I see payment has been taken so I write again, and again and again , a total of 5 times. I also try to call and there's a half hour wait each time then get cut off so I cancel my direct debit to them in the meantime. I then get an email from them saying they can't collect my payment! I then have another half an hour wait to speak to someone, eventually get through and go through the debacle . Apparently in the small print , you can ONLY cancel by phone - so you would think they would acknowledge or respond to your email to let you know that right , but no, 5 emails just ignored . So apparently because they didn't respond when I wrote to them and didn't pick up when I tried to call them , I am now out of pocket for w extra months of insurance I didn't use / need or want . These companies are sneaky , it's all a ( not so clever) ruse to get more money out of people by changing up the small print . In what world do you suddenly not confirm cancellation of a policy in writing ? I'm in rescue and I do not appreciate the underhand way this company has operated , nor the sneaky way my money has been kept and not refunded . Avoid at All Costs - This Company Is a Scam!

I strongly advise anyone considering Perfect Pet Insurance to think twice before signing up. My experience has revealed that this company is nothing but a scam, designed to avoid paying out claims while hiding behind misleading policy terms and conditions. When my dog needed urgent treatment after ingesting part of a toy—a potentially life-threatening situation—they denied the majority of my claim. Despite following their terms and seeking immediate care to protect my pet’s health, they made ridiculous deductions, including charging me for “excessive” medication costs and refusing to cover out-of-hours fees that were necessary to prevent a serious condition from worsening. This isn't an isolated incident; a quick glance at the negative reviews here and on Trustpilot shows a clear pattern. It’s obvious that Perfect Pet Insurance has perfected the art of denying claims and dodging their responsibilities. They lure new customers in with seemingly positive reviews, which they solicit immediately after someone signs up—before they’ve even had a chance to experience the company’s true colors. This tactic creates a false sense of security and hides the reality of how appallingly they treat their customers when it comes time to pay out. I’ve been with my vet for over 15 years and have never had any issues with claims from previous insurers. Yet, Perfect Pet Insurance had the audacity to claim that my vet’s charges were excessive and outside of their “market research” limits. This is beyond frustrating—it’s fraudulent. If you care about your pets and want peace of mind, do yourself a favour and avoid this company at all costs. They are nothing more than a money-grabbing operation that will do everything in their power to avoid fulfilling their obligations. I will be escalating my complaint to the Financial Ombudsman, but in the meantime, I urge others not to fall into the same trap I and many others did.
