I am absolutely appalled by my dogs insurance company (perfect pet) I had an out of the blue, emergency appointment on the 19th of January as my dog woke up with an eye ulcer which can be very painful. The vet charged me an arm and a leg as you can imagine. I tried to claim with them to which they said they would send out a claims form as I struggled to do it online. They never sent it. Anyway I’ve called them up and they said I missed my premium payment a few days after I had to pay out the vet bill. I explained this would have been because of that specific payment and at the time I couldn’t even get food for my 3yr old daughter. but that I am going to pay it this coming Friday. They said that because I missed a payment and there has been a change in Millie’s health that they are cancelling my policy and won’t be able to offer cover. I am at loss for words. No compassion at all. I’ve been with them almost a year and no issues with Millie, then as soon as there is an issue and I miss ONE payment which I explained I would be paying when I’m next paid (2 weeks after the payment was due) they decide they want to wash their hands with me. the heartbreaking part is Millie’s eye is still not any better and I am so worried. Now I haven’t even got cover for her and worried how I’m going to get her any additional help. Reviewed on: 8th February 2024

I strongly discourage anyone from getting perfect pet insurance. Having never claimed for my 10 yrs old dog. They have been completely obstructive and are refusing to pay out for an insurance claim I have made. The reason they have given is that I put my rescue dog down as a mongrel ( which she is ) . The vet documented her as staffy X. For this reason they will only give me 44.19% of the total bill which is £1400. Do NOT go with this company. Reviewed on: 23rd January 2024

DISGUSTING!!! Do not touch this company in any way… Do not touch this company in any way shape or form, they are disgusting and a complete disgrace, I have had my dog insured with them for a couple of terms now, my tiny little whippet cross, with no issues, she had a slight wobble in which I had to take her to the emergency vet, anyway, it was just a blocked salivery gland, it all cost me about £500, anyway, everything submitted by my vet, since then, all they have done is try to wriggle out of paying out at every turn, even telling me I had the wrong breed of dog insured!!!! And tried to double my policy monthly payments, last week they said this, and they were not paying out, and I owed them 55 percent, plus 15 percent of what I had paid for her treatment then bang my policy payment goes right up!! The customer service is diabolical, they don't get back to you, takes ages, they don't answer you never dealt with such a bad company, so I told them I cannot afford the massive hike in my policy and I will have to cancel, so now I've just received a completely contradicting email saying they accept my claim, but can't pay me out as I have not stayed at the inflated ammendment to the monthly price, so they have forced me to cancel and then told me that they won't pay out. Hence the reason I'm seeking legal advice and contacting the FCA and ombudsman, they will not get away with this. Please please do not use this company. Go elsewhere! Thought I was in safe hands, so they have been taking my money every month, and Tia it seems was not even insured, so I will be clawing back every payment as it was like I've just been giving them my money every month for no reason...... Funny when you look at the company at first glance the ratings are really good ... However look a little closer all the good reviews are from people who have just taken a policy out no doubt send them a voucher to write a good review .... Not one from anyone who has actually received any cash for a claim ... Without going into to much detail I put in a claim this week due to dog being diagnosed with a Mass Cell Tumor as if that wasn't enough to deal with the claim has been refused due to the fact last year the vet noticed a ZIT on my dogs back ... Yes a ZIT on my dogs back so now any lumps are deemed a pre existing condition - How keratin turns to cancer is a new one on me I have spoken to my Vet who also advised that the two lumps are not connected in any way this company are run by crooks who look for any reason not to pay out ..... I shall be taking the claim to the Ombudsman seeing as I am £1,500 out of pocket - Perfectpets you should be ashamed of yourselves They've also been reported to Watchdog by several customers - I'll be contacting them again See Below Perfect Pet Insurance Watchdog heard from some Perfect Pet Insurance customers who were unhappy that Perfect Pet had either rejected or made deductions from their claims, despite each of their vets being of the opinion they should have paid out. After death left with remaining contract

Unfortunately my dog got an aggressive cancer later in his life (12). He passed away fairly suddenly. We have NEVER made 1 claim in all them years previously. They don't pay your vet direct so we have to beg, borrow & steal (figure of speech) to help our beloved pet in his time off need (almost 1000 £), & then when we tried to claim cost back we were informed that we are tied into the contract (majority of the year left) so basically we have ended up at a massive financial loss. This has been an extra devastating blow just before Xmas & when we are already absolutely heartbroken at the loss of our boy. Positives: each staff member we've spoken to over the phone have been pleasant, obviously they're just doing their job. I wouldn't use this insurer in the future. Probably saver to go with petplan & pay a little more each month. Pet plan also pay your vet upfront. We live & learn.... Reviewed on: 17th November 2023

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! A disgraceful company, who will do anything possible to refuse or reduce payments. I genuinely believe that they pay their employees to sift through claims and small print to establish any reason at all to refuse payment. They have even lied about what information they received (even though I was able to prove it had been sent). They told me that information provided by my vet and signed off by my vet on Perfrct Pets own claim forms was not considered to be information from my vet???? to be honest that it’s just the tip of the iceberg. The latest incident in a long string of appalling treatment. Needless to say I will be taking them to the ombudsman, but what I really wanted from my insurance was peace of mind. I have used other insurers so I know this is exceptionally poor compared to other companies. Please pay more if necessary, so that you will actually get peace of mind from your cover. Any money you save on your premiums you will pay for 10 times over in reduced payouts for your claims and hours put into trying to resolve issues. They seem lovely while they get you to sign up … but it’s immediately down hill from there. AVOID AT ALL COSTS Reviewed on: 8th November 2023

Utter disgrace of a pet insurer, upped my direct debit plan by 300% without my agreement after querying the age / weight of my dog, our dog is a re-homed stray so have never known her exact age. This only came to light after i tried to make a Vets claim of nearly £800, after lots of barriers being put up they paid out roughly £160 but then put my monthly payment up from £30 per month to £110 per month!! They should rename themselves Perfect Cowboy Insurance! Reviewed on: 8th November 2023

Cowboys. They find anyway not to pay your claim. Despite a vets letter detailing that my dogs condition was not pre existing they refused to pay. Check out Google reviews. No compassion ! Our pet has since passed away and they have been cruel. Reviewed on: 31st October 2023
