Stole my money and thought it was ok

I took insurance out on the 30/11/2019, unfortunately, I was in an accident days later and by the end of December, the bike was written off so I had 1 days insurance for over £200. Fast forward to 30/11/2020 it seems they auto-renewed the policy even though the bike was destroyed and I received no email no letter and never asked for it leaving me another £200 out of pocket. In over 10 years with different insurance companies, I have never had this problem. so I will not be using any to do with grove and dean. Reviewed on: 13th January 2021

wish I was aware of this beforehand so that I never signed up with them in the first place.

They attract you with a low price and when you conclude everything, a few days later they keep sending emails threatening that if you don't call them, they will cancel your policy. And they ask about photocopy of MOT, license, V5, no claim bonus - all the papers. I've never had this experience before. They say it is to check for fraud and they come out with the idea that the insurer needs to raise the premium because I haven't given them the right information. They charged me £25 extra per month on top of what has been agreed. I was about to cancel the policy, but I have to bite the bullet so that I don't lose more money in charges in cancellation fees. I'm glad the year is almost over so that I can go elsewhere. Seriously, don't recommend, you're better of going somewhere else. I wish I was aware of this beforehand so that I never signed up with them in the first place. I'm hoping that by sharing my experience, others can be warned. Reviewed on: 28th December 2020

THEIVES!! DO NOT USE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE.

1
Shocking! Greedy Dishonest Company! I paid for a years insurance up front in good faith, then sold my van 4 months before the end of the term. Expecting my 4 months back minus the cancellation fee which with any other company this would be the case! I was told they were doing me a favour and waving cancellation fee, we would call it quits and I wouldn’t be charged anything but I also wouldn’t be getting my 4 months back! I argued on the phone that if I was paying monthly, the payments would have ceased and I would have only had a £60 cancellation fee. Top and bottom of it is they have stollen £140 from me. I have read on anoher thread from an ex-manager that the staff get bonuses for arguing with customers on the phone and keeping these payments. I also wouldnt be at all surprised if they're writing their own good comments on these review sites! No morals what so ever! Absolute cowboys! Do not use this company! Absolute greedy thieves! Unreasonable charge for no going ahead with a policy

1
I purchased insurance from this company via one of the comparison sites. When they called to go through everything we discovered that one detail had to change. This doubled the cost of the insurance so I decided not to go ahead. They then charged me £55 to cancel it. I asked them to waive this charge as I regard it as unreasonable, given that I did not go ahead with the policy. They could have done, easily but they refused, repeatedly. I will never use them again and I recommend you don't. If they are this unreasonable when it comes to not-going-ahead-with-a-policy, what else are they unreasonable about? Avoid. Greedy dishonest profiteers

I filed the following complaint: "I am very displeased with your business practices. When I signed on initially in 2019 I was quoted approximately £1800 p/a for this policy. I chose to pay monthly as I needed the flexibility to cancel, as the car in question is a leasing vehicle which I was supposed to return on 30.03.2020. I however decided to extend the lease temporarily. What I was not aware of, is the fact that you took out a credit agreement in my name to have the policy paid upfront for 12 months and charged the interest back to me. You possibly hid it somewhere in the small print but I find this business practice highly questionable. I have never had any company do this, this just comes across as usury and I find it dishonest and distasteful. So I ended up paying £190.54 per month or £2,286.48 for the year, almost £500 more than what I was quoted. Yet, to add insult to injury you auto-renewed me this year and started charging me despite me never having signed the contract. But due process does not appear to be of great concern to you. Furthermore for no reason you increased the price of my policy by almost 30%. This, despite the fact when I signed on I had 0 NCB and this year I had one year NCB with yourselves. My price should have decreased, the utmost I would have understood if the price increase was in line with inflation. So currently you are charging me £246.53 or £2,958.36 p/a, something I never agreed to. This with a policy of £3000 excess, I think we can all agree this is a subpar car insurance policy. When I spoke to one of your customer service representatives he was argumentative, repetitive and unprofessional, it felt like I am talking to a 'yob' I hope this matter can be settled professionally, however I strongly feel this malpractice should be referred to the Ombudsman." Their response was as braindead as the customer service advisor: - we reject all your complaints - we made you aware during the phone call that we auto-renew our policies (ex post facto) -we made you aware during the phone call that we get another creditor involved on your behalf so we can get the money 12 months upfront and charge the interest back to you (ex post facto) -Prices just change, that's it In summary I currently must have the worst insurance policy in the UK, paying £3000+ for a standard run of the mill policy with £3000 excess provided by a shady company of brokers teaming up with a gang of loan sharks. A mind bogglingly dishonest organisation

1
Well, my yearly automatic renewal came this week. I saw fit to cancel it. I phoned them up and after talking to the operator for about a minute he proceeded to cancel it. After my call, I got an email from them claiming that they were lapsing my policy, thereby claiming that I had been missing payments. I have emailed them but no answer back. I do not trust them to allow me to have a clean break. They are insatiably greedy Reviewed on: 9th September 2020
