Cheap but read the terms and conditions carefully

Had a leak which came under ‘escape of water’ small print specified that the excess for this would be 7 times that of the excess for everything else. Got caught out by the small print, will be more careful next time. Surveyor came out and issued his valuation based on nothing but a pure guess, no up to date market rates for labour and materials, no actual estimation using quantities of either materials or labour. Just ‘system says this much’ naturally after the enormous deduction for the excess I was out of pocket by a lot of money! Reviewed on: 2nd August 2024
