Home! my biggest investment, me security-Saffron BS.

Saffron staff were happy to answer questions. Real people on the telephone, brilliant! The willingness to help spoke volumes. I had a 5 year fixed and now I have a 2 year fixed. I started working at 17 to supplement University needs such as field trips. My views on many aspects shifted and I quickly saw how hard life is. By the time I gained my second Masters Degree in Biochemistry I had decided it was time to develop my teaching ambitions and the thought of property ownership - and a home for retirement security down the line became a factor. I executed my plan, gained a teaching degree/ DfE registered! and QTS, and applied for a mortgage shortly after accepting my first secondary school teaching post. I am now looking forward to becoming mortgage free asap. Saffron understand that my home is my biggest investment, and also that it is my security. The staff I spoke with did not mince their words and explained options and product ranges in a manner I could make sense of. Reviewed on: 5th April 2024

We remortgaged with Saffron before the 2008 Crash.

We remortgaged with Saffron before the 2008 Crash. We were looking for a proper mortgage rather than 2-year 'products' that ex-building societies were offering. The rate was based on the bank rate and as bank rates fell Saffron waived the collar, and I will be forever grateful that they did. It helped us through some difficult times. I felt that we were in a partnership, and that is what the best of the building societies used to offer. Reviewed on: 5th April 2024

A Light in the Darkness

After Nat West tried to double our mortgage payments and refused to extend our current mortgage deal, despite never having missed a payment, and then Santander prevaricated and were making us jump through hoops, we came across Saffron. Within days we had an agreement in principal, followed very quickly by a mortgage offer with a better deal than we had with our initial Nat West mortgage. Highly recommended. Helped with a Share of Freehold mortgage
