Saffron provided exactly what it said on the tin in...

Saffron provided exactly what it said on the tin in terms of my account and interest; beyond that, their customer service has always been exemplary. Even though the website isn't great (not as much functionality as the app, but I don't want to download the app), every time I call I get an extremely helpful, clear and efficient agent on the line who sorts out my issues on the spot. A calamity of errors trying to set up a child's bond.

A calamity of errors trying to set up a child's bond resulting in numerous phone calls to yourselves. Original application form received in branch on 29th Nov 2023, signed for and subsequently lost by yourselves. Traced over a month later after I had spent much time on many phone calls trying to find out what had happened to my documents and application. Calls cut off on several occasions resulting in me spending more time calling back and joining queue yet again. Calls made to your offices multiple times on at least 6 different days. Documents eventually traced and account set up by which time I had to buy duplicate birth certificate (still waiting for that cost to be reimbursed) and again original documents not returned to me until I called and asked for them to be returned. Duly received back last week addressed to the wrong person on the envelope. The admin of this building society I have experienced so far has been appalling. I have been promised a goodwill payment for the inconvenience of all of this which I am still waiting for and have spent yet more time this morning on the phone trying to find out when this will be paid....again the call dropped off after 15 minutes resulting in me calling again. I am now waiting for a call back from one of your advisors re current situation. The whole account set up has been time consuming and poorly managed. I have to commend your staff who have always been very polite on the phone especially Jean Paul Baya, Nicola Carey and Chi but their politeness cannot make up for the shoddy administration I have had to contend with. Telephone support is so helpful

Wanted to reinvest money from a maturing Saffron account and found this difficult to do online so phoned for help and was able to complete the transaction easily ; your staff are always very helpful and I hope the telephone response will continue to be easily available. Branch experience is excellent.

Full marks for SBS!

I called to advise my instructions for one of my maturing ISA’s and spoke to a very helpful lady called Clare. Her customer service was excellent. The only downside was the wait time before I could speak to anyone. However it was useful to know which position I had in the telephone queue. The wait music was excellent- appropriate and not annoying like so many others tend to be! Full marks for employing Clare - a great ambassador for Saffron Building Society. Everything Great until something goes wrong

Everything about Saffron Building Society was great until the problems with the computer system. I needed to prove to an estate agent that I had the cash funds to buy a property on Thursday 18th January but could not access my account either on laptop, iphone or ipad. I phoned and was told that I could not be emailed by account balance but it would be sent 1st class for the cut-off day Friday. It finally arrived Tuesday 23rd January so missed the deadline and the property. Reviewed on: 24th January 2024

Unable to access the online account, too complicated...

Unable to access the online account, too complicated trying to get another password as they changed the system after the account was opened! Very disappointed as quite capable of online banking! I will be closing the account! Reviewed on: 24th January 2024
