Dont fit a safety device

1
I have had quote from SAGA in the past and they have always been reasonable but not the cheapest. I recently had rear parking sensors fitted and they quoted £500 more because if manufacturers modifications. Make your own mind up. instead of SAGAs £740 I paid £294. Reviewed on: 8th June 2017

Feel ripped off

2
Took out Saga home insurance at a special rate for first year - just got my letter to renew - couldn't believe it - gone up from £22.23 to £68.36!! More than tripled. Went on to a price comparison site and put in details of my cover and lo and behold Saga quoted £34.30 - what a rip off, when I rang Saga to complain I was told there was a £20.00 arrangement fee. They were very unhelpful and spoke to me as if I was stupid. Needless to say I got a better quote and have taken that up and cancelled with Saga. Reviewed on: 11th May 2017

Great price

Always the lowest price for me- well well below £200 for fully comp- protected. Reviewed on: 27th February 2017

Great cashback offer

I was with Admiral last year and they were great but they hiked their price right up on renewal. I phoned up to see if they could price match Saga but they couldn't, so now I am 50+ I qualify for Saga insurance. I have changed over to Saga and also got £36 cash back through a cash back web site, so if the cash back tracks ok it will be a great deal, providing their service is good. Great customer service

5
I've had my policy with Saga for more than 5 years and I have never had a problem dealing with customer service, today I needed to change my policy documents twice as the garage I was buying a new car from lost my private registration documents. Saga were Great , they issued another policy in the old registration number and will change it back once my documents are replaced and completed correctly by the garage. And all foc as they fully understand my prediciment. great service Reviewed on: 2nd December 2016

Useless questions and refused to change address

1
I phoned after moving house and they refused to change their records unless I sent them copies of my driving licence and V5. I checked with the ombudsman and this is not a requirement under the law, but the immediate change of address notification is. They are therefore making me drive illegally and have themselves committed an illegal act-BEWARE! Reviewed on: 30th November 2016

more from saga the o.a.p.s friend

update, after shopping around I found that even with all the arrangement , and cancelling fees , Saga are still a good bet, because even with all that their rates are still better than the others, so I have to apologies for my previous rant-- still not too sure about them being able to take money before due date, but received reasonable explanation for it , so all's well that ends...... Terrible!

My car claim against a third party became an opportunity for saga to make more money. Car hire, lawyers, letters, stung out over 6 months and counting. Saga the company is registered in Gibraltar. How many customers enjoy having the money they pay saga go out of the country tax-free? Reviewed on: 31st August 2016

So Far So Good

What I've liked about Saga so far is a) that their policies are easy to understand; b) that their prices are competitive and c) that they don't rush to raise your premiums as soon as they think they've got you. And I have to say that I've found them easy to deal with on the telephone so far, although I've not had any major claims to settle. Reviewed on: 22nd August 2016
