Card renewal - bad practice

2 male operatives didn't give the correct information and the female operative tried her best but her boss has not deemed my complaint important enough to get back to me. I received a letter from Saga stating my credit card had expired and to ring them with new details. On giving the details of my card, immediate payment for my car insurance was taken from my bank account.At no time was I told this would happen and no one would cancel the payment which was not due for 3 another 3weeks. I was told to cancel it through my bank .They told me the payment was ",pending "so it couldn't be done and to go back to Saga. This practice should be made clear in their letter or by the operative before taking my card details. It has caused me financial embarrassment and disappointment as well 2hrs on the phone trying to deal with this..I will not be renewing my insurance with Saga next year for sure Reviewed on: 25th April 2023

Excellent service and cover

Because of my age many companies added over £1,000. Saga didn’t. This year I paid less than last year, my first year with them. Also added my daughter a couple of weeks ago in case I wasn’t fit enough to drive my car and was astounded to get a rebate. The lady on the phone had great patience, with an old lady, carefully explaining everything. Couldn’t have asked for more help. Reviewed on: 25th September 2025
