Disgusting cancellation policy. Be warned

Please don't use this company. Their cancelation fees are nothing short of robbery. Customer service is non existent. They are charging me 25% of my annual policy to cancel. I'm only 2 months into it Try a better firm that treats customers properly Reviewed on: 15th June 2023

Card renewal - bad practice

2 male operatives didn't give the correct information and the female operative tried her best but her boss has not deemed my complaint important enough to get back to me. I received a letter from Saga stating my credit card had expired and to ring them with new details. On giving the details of my card, immediate payment for my car insurance was taken from my bank account.At no time was I told this would happen and no one would cancel the payment which was not due for 3 another 3weeks. I was told to cancel it through my bank .They told me the payment was ",pending "so it couldn't be done and to go back to Saga. This practice should be made clear in their letter or by the operative before taking my card details. It has caused me financial embarrassment and disappointment as well 2hrs on the phone trying to deal with this..I will not be renewing my insurance with Saga next year for sure Reviewed on: 25th April 2023

Scam

It's a disgrace these fraudsters are allowed to operate in the UK. It's a torture of an experience trying to get a settlement payment out of them and it can drag on for years. Every time you call them its a 30 minutes wait for someone to pick up. Every time I speak to someone there I take their name, but the next time I call - it's a different person on the phone and they have no idea who the previous person is and there is no record on the system and they don't know what is going on and I have to explain everything from scratch. And they promise to take care of it, but then they hang up and it's back to square one: nothing happens and nobody knows what is going on. Reviewed on: 6th February 2023

Saga was a 180 degree different experience from last year

Having previously had excellent service from Saga, on returning as a happy Customer to obtain a new Motorhome policy, the experience has been terrible. My new pre-owned motorhome purchase is not significantly different to my previous, but now I am asked to provide original purchase receipts and costs for security locks which I did not purchase. Saga have declined to quote because it has a television then say after me having to call that it's OK if it's on a bracket???. Lots of barriers from Saga that are a complete reversal of my previous experience with the company with my last year's insurance. I have a clean history, no claims, 12 years+ NCD etc. I have spoken again with Saga to try to get some common sense. The operators are very pleasant and try to be helpful, but it's as if they now work for a different company. If it is this difficult to get a quote, what kind of hell would it be to have to make a claim? Sorry Saga. One previously loyal Customer is now going elsewhere! Reviewed on: 27th January 2023

What a waste of time and money

Four months we suffered damage to our car and submitted a claim. It's now January 2023 and we are still waiting to settle. What a scam. Passed from one business to another with no accountability. Not getting a penny of my business ever again. Reviewed on: 10th January 2023

Scam artists

My husband had a saga policy with a fixed price for three years. Fully comp. Unfortunately his credit card had to be canceled while we were on holiday due to fraudulent transactions. A new card was issued. We returned home after three weeks to find a letter dated three weeks ago(received that day) postal strike...that our insurance was cancelled. We rang to explain what had happened and was told we need a new policy and quoted 860.00. We had a fixed deal for three years for 270.00. An increase of almost £500 for nothing...never a claim. Thieving disgrace. Please read

**STAY AWAY** An absolute nightmare and incompetent company. Please read for your own benefits. I made a non-fault claim back in October when a speeding third-party tried to overtake me and hit my car. It took THREE days of my calling Saga to finally record the details of what happened and claim to be raised. After a WHOLE month and 18 back-to-back emails asking silly questions like: • “how long have you lived at your address”, and • “Do you take the car to work and where do you park it?” Saga failed to obtain the liability from the third-party’s insurer. They did not bother to check the CCTV of shops where the accident occurred. After 2 months of constant pointless calls asking to explain how the accident happened OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN, Saga cancelled on me. I found this out when I called for an update and was told today was my last day, when I asked for an explanation, Saga claimed they sent me a letter 10 days prior — BOLD FACED LIE! Stay away from this company. They might be offering cheaper price and now more than ever everyone is concerned about money but pay the few quid more elsewhere. Reviewed on: 28th December 2022

Renewal £150more than last year but they could drop by £40,renewed for less than last year with another provider for £13.00 less than last year with same cover. LOOK ELSEWHERE they are rip off merchants, beware! Reviewed on: 17th December 2022
