We decided on a new mortgage for our otherwise unencumbered property to enable some improvements and to have support funds if required. The approach to SBS was done through a helpful intermediary, and an offer in satisfactory terms was soon achieved. The whole process was achieved without hassle up to completion. Self Build Mortgage

Good experience overall, always available to talk which is nice. The wait for further instalments and the surveys from both the architect surveyor and Shepard's surveyor is very time consuming and very expensive. This could have been done by the same person and ended up adding £3000+ to my project. I understand that this is necessary to keep everything monitored, but one survey should have been plenty. Mortgage repayment

I am paying back by interest only equity taken out on my property..
