Self build to fixed rate mortgage

Overall we have had a great experience with SBS, when in the self build phase of the mortgage SBS were easy to deal with and provided drawdown funds quickly and painlessly once all paperwork was in order. Once we had our building control completion certificate in place we got transferred to a fixed rate mortgage of our choosing within around a week saving us a considerable amount. Although I applied for the mortgage through a mortgage adviser, I was happy with the options for first-time buyers that were available from the Scottish Building Society.
