First Rate

Moved to this bank when my previous bank moved customer services overseas. The best move I made. When I need to speak to someone they are local. The internet banking is dead easy and the use of ATMs or the Post Office are so convenient. Reviewed on: 12th January 2018

Easy as pie

A decent bank with ethical values

I joined Smile many years ago, to get their preferable rates and because I sided with their ethical values. Things have changed much over the years, the once decent rates aren't as good as they were, but that's true for all, but charges/fees are fair. The online banking has been revamped heavily from their old basic offerings, but is still missing OFX export. The Smile phone app is a useful offering facilitating most banking tasks. We're now happy with the SmileMore premium account offering a good price on EU RAC cover for joint account holders in all vehicles (our cars & bikes), plus phone/gadget insurance which is great for smashed screens. Long time account holder, never a problem

Trouble free banking

I've banked with Smole for over ten years. Every contact I've had has been positive, quickly responded to and solved with as little problem to me as possible. E.g. Don't use my overdraft very much so they were going to reduce it by half. I messaged them from within my account said I wanted to keep it at the level it was at. They agreed. I had a problem with transferring money to pay a credit card bill as the other company refused repeatedly (5 times) and Smile looked into the problem and messaged me when the problem with the other company resolved. The current account is easy to use with SO, DD and so on. The website is easy to navigate , though I did prefer the last one to this very latest update but both easy, just my preference. Love the fact they are an ethical bank so know my money is not buying guns, drugs or supporting ivory trade or people smuggling. Great bank. Thoroughly recommend. Reviewed on: 8th November 2017

Easy to use online banking

Even better than Carlsberg!

Fantastic service, always pleasant, knowledgable and helpful whether on the phone or in person. Even monitor account for security reasons and if suspicious of activity contact to discuss. Nice piece of mind. Will always recommend! If Carlsberg is the best lager in the world (probably) then this is the best bank. Reviewed on: 6th November 2017
