Good online bank

Brilliant & Transparent Banking Concept

Starling is a bank for the people, it is run for the people and they have people come first, unlike the high street banks who place their pockets first and people last. They answer to a higher authority, not the people. It is an autocratic organisation. Starling Bank has demonstrated how a bank for the people should be run, open, transparent and honest, built on sound ethics and principles that offers confidence and simplicity in all aspects of banking. It is an uncomplicated system that you carry in your pocket and available 24hrs a day. Reviewed on: 19th March 2021

Much better than First Direct

Much better than First Direct who I left after 20 years. Accounts are opened quickly, the software is brilliant, their staff treat you with respect and courtesy and do NOT question you about what are you doing with YOUR money as HSBC does. Starling are the very best bank in Britain. I look forward to trying their business banking. Reviewed on: 19th March 2021

21st century banking

Of course all the challenger banks have very similar offerings, but Starling is the oldest one, and that maturity brings some benefits such as being able to take cash out at a Post Office. It also has an in-app marketplace, which is a bit like those bolt-on benefits you can get with some current accounts, except that here they’re all provided by third parties. The only thing Starting doesn’t do that my Barclays account does do is that Barclays offers much more flexibility when choosing the date of a standing order: you can set it to second Tuesday of the month, last working day of the quarter etc but Starling only offers basic day numbers. Even to have a standing order go out on the last day of the month is impossible unless you start it in a month which has 31 days. Reviewed on: 18th March 2021
