Opened a starling account to use on holiday last year. No charges for using atm abroad and MasterCard exchange rates which are one of the best. Notification sent to your phone before you have the card back in your wallet telling you what you've withdrawn or spent in both currencies. Liked it that much I switched from my 25 year old account from bank of Scotland. Reviewed on: 13th January 2019

An account as it should be in 2019.

I moved my bank account of 38 years almost entirely on my mobile phone whilst eating my sandwiches at lunchtime. There was one minor hiccup in the auto switch but that was an issue with my previous bank. Other than that my Starling account is perfect. In truth I’ve not had cause to phone them so couldn’t say anything about that kind of service. That in itself I think says a lot. Never in any financial services product I’ve ever had has the blend of technology, customer ease and simplicity been so apparent. Thank you Starling Bank. Reviewed on: 13th January 2019

I grew tired of the poor online experiences offered by the big banks. I used to be Barclays customer before switching to Nationwide due to their support of Google Pay when it first rolled out, but I soon found that the banking apps they offered were shockingly bad to use. In this day and age you would expect a well known bank to have a decent online offering with an app that works, but apparently the big banks don't see this as being important? So I went looking for an alternative and decided to try Starling. Immediately I was impressed by the app they offer. It's clean, fast, easy to use and gave me all the information about my account and transactions clearly when I need them. Transaction notifications in real-time is an incredible feature and I love the security options which allow me to quickly block my card should it be lost of stolen. The application process to sign up for an account was very quick and easy and after running the app alongside my Nationwide account I was so impressed that I did a full switch to Starling and I never looked back!
