Steps to mindful financial management

Step Change provided informative and easily accessible financial management support, at a time when I felt overwhelmed by debt and without any other alternative repayment options. Reviewed on: 9th June 2025

Step Change changes lives by even helping people to avoid committing suicide from serious debt that can plunge some people into even depression.

Step Change Debt management service could never ever get any better than they are. They have piloted me through "a dark tunnel" of further plunging deeper into my debts. I don't know how I would manage without Step Change. They are one of the best in this area. Tbh, I was on the brink of moving to another country in exile and assuming a new identity and just abandon the best but then Step Change rescued me by; "tossing me a Life jacket in the middle of the ocean, drowning in" my in debts of approximately £22,00. I can breathe again!

A friend recommended StepChange around 4 years ago and they have 100% given me the most helpful advice in a respectful and unpatronising manner. They gave me options that fit my situation and then helped organise the one I chose! Honestly, for the first time in a lot of years I felt I could breathe again!! Help when needed the most

Relieved the anxiety of debts

We were stressed trying to manage our debts but Stepchange worked with us on our budget and agreed a DMP that was acceptable to our creditors. Debt management help

Last year I was depressed and anxious due to spiralling interest on my credit cards and couldn't seem to get them down. But now after getting the advice and help from Stepchange I can see my balances coming down and I have more money to buy food and clothing. I feel so much better in myself.
