I turned to step change in 2020 my marriage had broken down , and I was left with a lot of debts so I owed about 16000, at the time, iv been able to put all my debts as one payment, so far iv payed just over 6,000 pounds in the last 5 years I'm glad I did turn to step change, they have helped me sort out my debts and now iv been able to sleep at night Reviewed on: 24th May 2025

Lifesaving support

When I was at my lowest ebb after my husband left me, I was signposted to step change. I was advised to open a debt management plan, it is my lifesaver, literally. The staff are well trained, non judgemental and kind. They made me feel secure enough to face my largest deamon- debt. Reviewed on: 29th July 2022

After a long time worrying myself half to death about debt to then taking the step to actually make the call to Stepchange was a challenging time. It is an awful feeling when you are in debt and you don't know what to do. You feel you should know better as an adult but circumstances just collided. Step Change were non judgemental. They just wanted to help. All they all for is honesty. They were so helpful and supportive. They helped me to sleep at night again and stop the panic attacks. Incredible company and service. I was really scared about going into debt management but they go out of their way to make sure you can afford to pay what you say you can whilst managing the stress of all the changes to creditors so you don’t have to. Reviewed on: 29th July 2022

After contacting step change I was able to start sleeping at night again, instead of worrying where I was going to find money from, after my health issues stopped me working.
