Retaking control

You've come to the end of your tether, swamped by red letters and final notices. So phone StepChange - one of the best half hours of your life. They sort out what you spend on what, what you owe, what you can afford to pay back after allowances are made for the amount you need to live on. Then they sort out the repayments (through them) and companies listen to them whereas they wouldn't listen to you, because they have standing. And the best bit (apart from the relief of finally doing something positive about things) is that they're a charity and won't charge you a penny. Reviewed on: 23rd April 2017

Thrown to the dogs, how is this support?

We made our payments every month, well before the end of the month but they still cancelled it and thrown us to the dogs. How is this support by anyone's standards. If we had not paid at all then I would understand it but just paid a few days late and you have cancelled it. Reviewed on: 27th May 2026

I act as power of attorney for my daughter’s debts.

I act as power of attorney for my daughter’s debts. I have dealt with various advisors who have each given me excellent advice how to manage my daughters debts and put my mind at rest with there management plan explained fully.
