Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

Excellent support

I was recommended to use Step Change as i was so much in debt and struggling. I applied online and since i joined, a huge weight has been lifted. I pay a one off sum each month to Step Change and they take care of the rest ! Highly recommend 5☆ Reviewed on: 5th September 2021

Piece of mind returned

Drowning in a sea of debt several years ago and could see no where out I decided to go to Stepchange for help. It was so easy to set up my account which is fair for my creditors and manageable for me. StepChange has been a godsend

StepChange has been a godsend for myself. I was unfairly dismissed from my job and an error with HR regarding my last wage meant I literally had 10p to my name. My credit score dramatically decreased as I was unable to pay my bills. StepChange allowed me to start repaying my debt with a token payment plan and when I successfully appealed my dismissal, I was reinstated with my job which has enabled me to start paying the remainder of my debt using a Debt Management Plan. Since, I have seen my credit score increase and overall debt to income ratio improve, I finally feel I will be able to start saving for my first mortgage in the next few years- something I never thought I would be able to achieve. StepChange have been flexible in meering my needs whilst being completely non-judgemental on my situation.
