Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

Stepchange are great was in a right mess with bills and no money seemingly to pay them, rang stepchange and it was the best thing I ever did, they have taken the stress and worry off me with a easy affordable monthly payment that is way better than what I was paying out Reviewed on: 25th May 2025

From a feeling of deep despair to satisfaction

COVID sunk our finances into a deep hole of despair- the kind and helpful personal assistance from Stepchange assistants helped us work out a budget and presented us with a plan of action. Not only did this help us with peace of mind but for the first time in a long time we felt back in control. Over time there were considerate and helpful articles sent via email to help us with adjustments to our thinking and thus our spending habits.
