Good friends at a difficult time

StepChange representatives have been so helpful and supportive at every stage of the process from initial contact, through setting up a budget and agreeing and implementing a payment plan, with continuing reassurance and never a harsh word, despite my stupidity in allowing myself to get into debt Reviewed on: 17th June 2021

professional and caring.

I was getting chased for money I could not pay and I learned of stepchange,and rang them and they sorted out my debts in a professional and caring way and were not judgemental of how I had got into debt, but showed me how to clear all my debts and got in touch with all my creditors and got them to accept a reasonable payments to them that I could afford and that helped me a lot so much so I had 9 debts to clear at first but now I have only 1 now which I will clear in July, and then I will be debt free, so without stepchange I would never had achieved this and I have no words that could thank them enough for how they got me out of a situation that I would never been able to clear my debts on my own so a big thank you to them. Changed my life

I felt like my debt situation was impossible to resolve. Step Change helped me arrange payments to my creditors that I could afford according to my budget. I am disabled and live with mental illness and Step Change were incredibly supportive without patronising me. My life felt totally in unmanageable but now I don’t worry as I make one affordable payment by Direct Debit each month. When it came time for a review they were once again so kind and helpful and took all the stress out of a situation that has caused me huge anxiety in the past. I can’t recommend them highly enough, especially for people like me who live with mental illness and can find it very very hard to deal with situations head-on. Reviewed on: 17th June 2021
