Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

The light at the end of the tunnel

Nowhere to turn.. saved my life

I thought I had nowhere to go with regards to my money issues. It’s not easy to open up to anyone and especially not a stranger but they have been nothing but incredible from start to now. Every member of staff I spoke to approached the situation perfectly, spoke to me with complete respect and understanding and have literally saved my life. Brilliant service

Best help ever

A weight off my mind

I started off with just a credit card which then turned into several credit cards and store cards, loans and online accounts. Every time I would get a loan to pay off debts and then end up in even more debt. My job didn’t cover the cost of living and I was struggling to keep up with the minimum payments aswell as the every day costs like food, travel, clothes etc not to mention rent and other bills. Contacting StepChange was the best move I’ve ever made. I am now able to afford to live, knowing that my bills are covered and without worrying that the bailiffs will be knocking on the door. Highly recommend anyone who is struggling with debt to get in touch with StepChange. Lovely understanding staff and absolutely no charges at all Reviewed on: 3rd September 2021
