Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

Amazing

The only refuge in the eye of the storm

Step Change was the only friend in my darkest of hours a few years back. Having found myself in a perilous financial situation not of my own making, the walls were closing in on me and i had nobody else to turn to. Then Step Change helped me out and provided me with help, advice and so much needed refuge from the relentless torment of creditors hell bent on crushing me. Saved my life

I honestly couldn’t of even imagined being able to live my life whilst paying off debt. They have helped me in so many ways, they are always supportive and make you feel at ease when talking to them. My mental health has improved dramatically since using this service due to their kind, helpful manner when setting up this. It’s an embarrassing thing to do and they treat everybody with respect and dignity. They are supportive and understanding to your individual needs and I couldn’t thank them enough.
