Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

Life Saving

My life was turned upside down. I split from my husband I was doing 2 jobs but left one as it was affecting my health and not long after was made redundant from the other. I couldn’t find another job due to COVID-19 (lack of jobs). I didn’t know where to turn. I’m very independent and wanted to sort things out but I couldn’t see a way out. I contacted Stepchange for advice and they were brilliant. The staff were very supportive and helped me find a way to still sort out my finances but took away the mountain I knew I couldn’t climb. I can’t describe in enough words how much they have helped me. I now have another job. Low pay but I’m independent again and continue to live without stress thanks to their ongoing support. They was amazing and understanding to our circumstances

Changed my life!
