Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

Peace of mind!

As "Senior Citizens!" my wife and I had to move home due to no fault of our own! Being pensioners we had no funding for the move and, had to take out a loan and, also, "max-out" our credit cards! That left us with a severe debt problem! We were advised by our bank that we would be wise to contact Stepchange! After a phone call of about three quarters of an hour, they had sorted out a plan to put our minds at rest and, get our debts paid in an acceptable way! We are coming to the end of the debt plan and just can't praise and, thank Stepchange enough!! Reviewed on: 22nd July 2021
